Pork Chops Baked in Sour Cream
Perfect pork chops you can cut with a fork
Ingredients
- 4 Pork loin chops 1/2-1" thick
- Seasoned flour or bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 tsp Summer or winter savory
- Ground cloves (optional but advised)
- 3 tbsp Cooking oil or lard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Combine water, bay leaf, vinegar, sugar, sour cream and savory into a pot and warm until ingredients are fluid and mixed well. Set aside.
- Lightly dust pork chops with ground cloves on one side. Not too heavy on the dusting, you don't want to overpower the chop with this flavor.
- Dredge pork chops in seasoned flour or bread crumbs.
- Lightly brown pork chops in fat/lard.
- Place browned pork chops in baking dish.
- Pour the warmed water/sour cream mixture in baking dish.
- Bake covered for one hour
